WEST DOMAIN Area 2
Open, flat, grassed area adjacent to Domain Creek on the Westmead/Park Ave side of Park. Scattered shade.Shelters: 2 small shelters to seat 8 people each. Suitable for smaller groups.;
BBQ: One gas BBQ.

Parking: Approx 20 spaces near by.

Open, flat, grassed area adjacent to Domain Creek on Westmead/Park Ave side of Park. Suitable for sporting activities and picnics. Tap water on site. Toilets located across road. Parking for 50+ cars. Named as above

SALTERS FIELD Area 5
Open, flat, grassed area as per Area 3 with one medium sized shelter, seating approximately 12. Area located adjacent to children's playground. Ideal for children’s parties and/or family gatherings. BBQ nearby and close to toilets. Adjacent parking 50+ cars. There is no power in this area. Named after the land grant to emancipist George Salter in 1796.

COLEMAN CRICKET OVAL Area 6
Located in the north-western corner of the park, with turf cricket pitch. Popular for a variety of sports. Three picnic shelters are located in a picturesque area at the end of the oval. Short walk to children’s playground and historic Dairy Precinct. Close to toilet facilities. Adjacent parking for 60 cars. There is no power in this area. Named after R.E. Coleman, Trust Chairman 1937-1964.
The cricket wicket is closed for maintenance from mid April to early October.

THE PICNIC GROUND Area 7
Open, flat, grassed area bordering Wisteria Gardens, with concrete cricket pitch at southern end. Large picnic shelter (seating approx. 24) and four BBQs. Suitable for larger groups/events. Close to Parramatta Park Café. Short walk to children’s playground/toilets. There is no power in this area. Parking for 60+ cars. A popular picnic spot throughout the 20th century.

SALTERS FIELD Area 8 & 9
Open, flat, grassed area near historic Dairy Precinct. Car-free road (Long Avenue) runs along area’s eastern boundary - ideal for cycling. Suitable for sporting activities and picnics. Area 8 has synthetic cricket wicket. Short walk to toilets and Café. There is no power in this area. Adjacent parking for 30+ cars.

THE CRESCENT Area 12 & 13
Amphitheatre located in the centre of the Park, below Old Government House. Popular for large private and corporate events. Site has single & 3-phase power, paved stage area at centre -28m x 14m and tap water. Includes 25 parking bays and parking for 200 cars within 5 minute walk (weekends only, Mon-Fri ticketed commuter parking). Vehicular access for unloading/set-up. Pegs, stakes etc may be used here. Named after Governor Phillip’s description of this feature and what was core land of the Burramattagal people in 1788.

THE BOWLING GREEN Area 17
Flat, grassy area adjacent to Rumsey Rose Garden, near Macquarie Street Gatehouse. Ideal location for private functions and marquees. Approximately 50 metres from Pitt/Macquarie Street park entrance.Toilets located on site. Parking for 30+ cars (100 spaces on weekends). Pegs stakes etc.may be used in this area. There is no power in this area. Site of the convict lumber yard and later the Rose Hill Bowling Club.

RUMSEY ROSE GARDEN Area 18
The garden comprises rose arbours and beds around a central lawn and paved paths. Suitable for wedding ceremonies, photography, cocktail parties and small gatherings. Best flowering display is in Oct-Nov and May. Macquarie St. Gatehouse is at northern end. Toilets on site. Parking as per Area 17. Power is not available here. Named for Heather and Roy Rumsey who donated the heritage and species roses found here.

PAVILION FLAT Area 23
Pavilion structure with coloured concrete floor and five timber picnic tables, holds 100 people. Site has single and 3-phase power, tap water and BBQs. Surrounded by flat, grassy, area with large established trees, overlooking Parramatta River to the north. Children’s playground adjacent. Short walk to toilets. Limited parking near by, park at the O'Connell St car park 5 minutes walk from the Pavilion. Picnic pavilions have been located on this site since the 1900s.

GOVERNMENT FARM Area 24
Named after Governor Phillip’s government farm that was supervised by Henry Dodd and shown in McCormick’s 1791 painting. Grassy, riverbank area with established trees dotted around, and river to south and west. Swimming pool car park to eastern boundary. Noller Footbridge leads across river to area near The Crescent. Parking for 200 cars (weekends only, Mon-Fri ticketed parking). No water or power available. Close to Old Kings Oval.

OLD KINGS CRICKET OVAL Area 25
Old Kings Oval and Doug Walters Pavilion (canteen, change rooms and showers, spectator seating, club room and public toilet facilities). Surrounded by established trees, this facility has a 'village green' atmosphere. Road access off O’Connell Street via Parramatta Stadium. First grade cricket venue from September to April. Parking for 35 cars. This cricket oval was used by used by King’s School in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century.

LITTLE COOGEE Area 32
Picturesque flat, grassy area on the riverbank in the north-east section of the park. Suitable for wedding ceremonies and photos. The Parramatta Café is located on the hill above and overlooks site. Abundant wildlife such as ducks and waterfowl regularly in the area. Two picnic shelters and toilets nearby. Short walk to historic Dairy Precinct. Adjacent parking for 60+ cars. Power is not available here. Name originated in the early 20th century when this part of the river was a popular swimming spot.
