Environment
Today the park is one of the largest parks in western Sydney and offers a relaxing and picturesque place for families and community groups to experience this cultural and historic icon harmoniously co-existent with recerational facilities and integrated with the surrounding environment. Its environment is made up of a rural landscape reflecting its origins as a Government Domain and early convict town, historic structures and archaeological zones, remnant and regenerated Cumberland Plain vegetation, waterways and grasslands.
